Our son has enjoyed his first year with Canes Illinois and is coming back for year two. He particularly has enjoyed the amount of coaches that are at each practice as the ratio of players to coaches is very strong (eg. 4-6 coaches for 16 players during his offseason training). Additionally, he likes the fact that there are a limited amount of teams at each age group and doesn’t seem like they will just simply take everyone to play so that total revenue is driven higher.
We had a great season with the Canes at 15U! Top notch training and practices and great communication. Boys loved their coach and teammates. Highly recommend!
We have now been with Canes Illinois for four seasons (two summer and two fall) and still cannot say enough great things about this organization. Ownership does a great job of acknowledging feedback and correcting any points of possible concern. As a family, we feel they are great with communication and outline expectations early on. The coaches are well qualified and are always willing to provide feedback to athletes and parents as needed. The facilities are up-to-date and provide the space and amenities needed for proper practices.
We've had a great experience at Canes in 13u, 14u and now going on to 15u -- very thankful to be part of the organization and are looking forward to the future!
My son had a great experience during his first year with the Canes at 15U. He will be returning again next year for his 16U season. Our family was impressed with the winter training and continued summer practices throughout the season. The coaches were knowledgeable, skilled, motivating and fair. The organization does a great job of communicating throughtout the year. We look forward to our son's continued development with the Canes IL program.
My son has been playing for Canes for 2 years and he loves it. We are thankful he is in a program where the owners and training coaches know each kid by name and care about their development. Canes is serious about arm care- even for kids who aren't looking to pitch long term. Our son has grown so much through this program. Another benefit is that the facility is available for kids to use when it isn't booked for practice, and we've never had a problem getting a spot during the day.
Our Canes experience has been nothing short of excellent!! They truly believe in the development and well being of the ball players. The Canes offer many different opportunities to grow and achieve whatever your baseball dreams and ambitions are.
I highly recommend the Canes to anyone looking for a program that truly cares about the athlete. As a family whose son has been dedicated to the game since 4, we have been a part of a few different organizations. Entering into Canes we expected a higher caliber of training, which my son got, but we also got a ton more.
- The coaching is next level. When we saw our son out in the field after winter training my husband I both looked at each other and said “well that’s new”. He grew and as a parent that was always the goal.
- They care about attitude. From day one our son said everyone on the team is really encouraging and positive. That tone is set at the top and it’s clear it’s done with intention.
- They are not afraid to make changes in service to the greater good. We’ve experienced mistakes at other organizations and once they had your money there was really no desire to fix anything. Canes has consistently been transparent on what is working and what will change. Honestly it’s so refreshing after all these years.
- The coaches care about winning but they also care that these boys love the sport and are having fun. Attaching a fun picture of a post game water fight after a sweltering night game in Myrtle Beach. That moment felt so right as a parent…if the kids are not out there having fun, what are we even doing?
- They care about the kids health both physically and mentally. I have never seen them over pitch a boy. Most of these coaches are ex pros and they know the damage that can be done. I love that they seem to care as much as the parents do. They also did mental coaching in the winter to prepare the boys for the pressure in the field. I have never seen another program offer that. Add to that nutrition and strength program and you have all the bases covered.

Our experience so far with the Canes Illinois has been overwhelmingly positive. To be specific, the development, coaching and ability to practice on a full field with a practice plan which is similar to any major HS/college is really what sets you apart from other major travel programs. I’ve seen it firsthand with my oldest son’s previous HS travel experience and not all programs can provide this level of out of season/ in-season training for growth and development. Would highly recommend
My son is competing in his fourth season with this program. We joined at 14U when it was fairly new under the Canes banner. While our experience has not been all sunshine and rainbows (no program can deliver that), Canes Illinois has the same training technology as a D1 college program, coaches that genuinely care about developing players both physically and mentally, and sufficient capacity in their facilities to accommodate extra training sessions (if your son is looking to push himself).
In the end, they have all the tools and insights that will help your son become the best baseball player that he wants to be. I don’t think you can expect anything more from a travel baseball program (unless your main priority is to chase trophies).

We moved our son and the rest of his travel team to the Canes Illinois organization a year ago. The goal was to get the boys into a true 'program' - one that is focused on coaching, development, and providing opportunities for growth and exposure as they get into high school. We wanted to get away from the environments that were purely 'dad' coached and where resources are poured into a smaller number of teams. There are many talented baseball players in Chicagoland, but the math is the math ... when you have 7 or 8 teams at an age level there is only so much dome, field, and cage time to go around. The owners are dedicated to quality and development over profits and the coaches they hire are quality men with strong resumes who know how to relate to younger baseball players. Could not be happier with our decision and our commitment to the program for the future.
Our son plays for this team and we couldn't be more impressed. The coaches are impressive. They care a lot about the kids, and their development as a player and a person. They learn how to compete, but also the value of preparation, hard work, and ownership in their own success.

From the moment we joined, it’s been clear that Canes Illinois is built differently — it’s not just about winning games, but about developing complete, skilled, and resilient athletes.
Mike and Tom really care about the development of the young athletes as well. This organization doesn't ring chase like others in the area. They focus on development. A $15 ring is cute, but I'd rather have my son's long term development the priority at this age.

Our son has been with Canes Illinois Naperville for the past two years and is currently playing at the 14U level. The coaching, mentorship, player development, and competitive environment have helped him grow tremendously not only as a baseball player, but as a young man.

We are new to the Canes organization and cannot be happier. The communication and level of service is better than what we have witnessed at this level of travel sports. The organization is very well ran with some of the nicest and professional coaches.
